after an hour of queuing with a bunch of synth kids and intense heat, we finally got on the boat. Das Boot 2008 had begun. The line up this year had some major acts like VNV Nation, Infected Mushroom and the act we were there for; Danger. He was out first. Scheduled to play at 8:30 so we basically just dropped our stuff off and went down to the main stage. Not a single soul there except for some people sitting down waiting in the back. We took the front row of course.
I’m telling you this was by far worth the trip, just to see Danger. Along with his companion Pierre, he started out with 9H20, my personal favourite. Continued with the EP tracks. 11H30 sure got the crowd going. The tip of the iceberg was when when clips from First Blood (Rambo) was shown on the projector accompanied by 19H11. It doesn’t get better than that. The crowd was filled up by then and everybody was screaming DANGER! DANGER! when his remix of Sebastien Tellier’s Divine started. As for the encores, he played a brand new track, and oh my god it sounded good. Finishing off with some happy hardcore remix that put a smile on our faces.
here’s some DÖDSELECTRO photos from the trip: (Emma, me, Robert, Karl) THUMBS UP! from Pierre, Robert, Franck and me!
Visit Dangers myspace to check his tourdates regularly, cause this is something you can’t miss. This was the best live performance I’ve _ever_ seen. I can’t wait for EP II! Thanks guys.
here in Sweden we all know Pippi Långstrump. In the US you might know her as Pippi Longstockings. The Character was created by the famous childrens writer Astrid Lindgren. You could say that basicly every kid in Sweden grow up being fed her wonderful stories. They will live on until life is no more.
The reason I’m telling you this is because someone else has a story to tell about this girl. I just had to snatch this track by Fear of Tigers from valerie and post about it. It’s called The Adventures of Pippi Longstrump. I couldn’t help smiling when I heard it the first time. Realizing it’s a beautiful up-beat dancetale that just had to be told. This is one of the tracks you can not miss this year. Listen to Fear of Tigers story about Pippi Longstrump and then go watch a movie about her.
The other day I stumbled upon the Various Artist record called “Ever Better” containg a bunch of known producers tracks that I haven’t heard before and some producers previously unknown to me. So I figured “Hey, why not give this a shot?”. Said and done, I downloaded it to my harddrive and left it there for a couple of days due to work 24/7. After those days, I finally got the chance to listen to it and well, it’s a decent compilation. Some tracks were good and some were not that good, typical for a VA-record.
Anyway, when I got to the end of this compilation I almost fell off my chair, The Bloody Sisters [AKA T.B.S.] with their track Time Machine … WOW! This track is just unbelievably good and it got everything that I crave; Catchy beat, perfect vocal-clippings, good upbuild and sweet leads! Listen for yourself to get a drift of what I’m talking about:
Right after that I hunted down their myspace and saw that they are going to realese their debut EP “Time Machine” later this month on the label Sismic Music and I can only speak for myself, this EP is a must! In the meantime while you are waiting for the EP to arrive, you can always check out their blog were they post remixes they’ve made for free.
Listen to the posted track, realize that they are beyond godlike, get the remixes from their blog and lastly; wait like good boys & girls for the coming EP. Oh, also don’t forget to show them some love on their myspace or I’m gonna be a sad panda!
Send us music, bitch on us or let us know if you want to do something fun. Enjoy your stay!
