-When I make my tracks, I got a lot of influences. It’s always related to what happens in my life. Feeling fresh was made when I got out of a week of hospitalization. I was feeling fresh! It’s that simple, lol.
Most of the time, music is in my head. I mean, everywhere I go, I’m thinking about a melody. I get back home and write it with my korg keyboard. My dad’s singing in a choir… I went to his show, they were singing the messiah of Handel. It inspired me and I wrote the track “Wonderful”.- Marc Rémillard.

That _is_ what music is all about, it’s something you feel, you have a feeling, a story to tell. I Got an email the other day, from Marc Rémillard, a 19 year old producer from Quebec. He presented me with his new track ‘Feeling Fresh’. The eerie sound, the creeping build up. It feels good, the atmosphere makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable, but it’s so beautiful at the same time. It’s about feeling fresh,about recovery. But somewhere in there, I can picture the hospital bed, the food that reek of disease.  Marc started his career in 2007 playing the guitar in progressive rock band Mentis. What I’m here to present though, is his electronic compositions. Besides working solo he also has a project going on with his friend Ahllex, this electronic duo is called Do It At Home. He’s not new to the scene, he’s been playing with midi controllers, been tearing Ableton Live apart in the past. 2009 Marc enters with his feeling, his story, and though it is newly hospitalized, it is fresh.

Max and Adrien, known more as Jean-Tube and Awkoder 89 has two fresh remixes to sooth your ears. In fact they are so fresh, I just got Jean-Tubes baked and rendered from him on msn like 2 hours ago. Both of thems first official remix, and it sounds so god damn good. They are french, what can you do? Do me a favour and feel fresh. Damn… a lot of freshness in here.

During the days that have gone by lately, I’ve been pretty much occupied all the time with all kinds of things. And one of the things that took the most time (and was also the most enjoyable), was that I had the chance to borrow home two Pioneer CDJ-800’s and one DJM-400 from my clubcompanion that works with renting out Audio and Visual equipment. So last weekend, me and my friend Erik played with this kit constantly (Almost, at least. Even though work and studies stole quite a lot of time from us). We did this mainly to practice and practice, but also to have the chance to record some livemixes.
Anyway, I would like to share one of the mixes that we made together. This mix contains tracks from the genres Electro-House/Techno/Nu-Disco.
Have in mind though, it’s not flawless and it has one or two weak beatmixes in it that we are aware of, but you must understand that we are not pros. Good dj’s perhaps I would say, but I let you decide if we are that or not.

I really like Britney Spears lately, she’s come out with some real sweet tracks the last year, tracks praying to be remixed. Today I discovered this lady. 21 year old Christy Dawn, aka Snowcone from LA. Her remix of ‘Circus’ is just brilliant, I’ve had it on repeat most of the day. All I can say is, I want more remixes of this caliber. I guess Christy is kinda new on the scene, besides the remix there’s one original track as well. ‘Dusty Dream Dub’ , a nice disco house track that has all the right feelings. That’s all I got, but I’ll be keeping an eye on Christy, hopefully we’ll hear more from her in the near future. I’ll keep you updated.

there is a reason for all the posts on all the wonderful artists from On The Fruit lately. That reason is Franck Russo (and my love for the music of course). But mainly Franck Russo, he runs the label On The Fruit. Besides that, Franck even produces his own music. If you haven’t heard his tracks before, then get ready, cause Franck will Freak You. Belive me when I say he’s got exelent taste, maybe it’s a combination of being a wine shop owner, and his ear for good productions. In other words, this guy got style. Yeah, he’s a busy man, he should have all the cred in the world.

Freak You is an undescribeable melody, containing sadness and happiness with a nice dancable beat squeezed in between. Freak You is a humming robotic construction somewhere in space, on a planet far away. It is the creature deep down in the dark depths of the ocean, singing it’s song. Freak You is the earth 2289 A.D. Just listen to the soundscapes he creates, it’s an atmosphere you wont find somewhere else.

I’m not gonna talk about Billy Lee and Jimmy from the video game, those guys are not so good at producing electronic music I guess. They got their hands full bashing bad guys in the streets. The Double Dragon I’m here to salut hails from France,and these guys know! how to produce magical soundtrack electro music. They were featured on the MOTU compilation with the track ‘Misery’ when it began, and I believe Billy and Jimmy would love to do the fighting with that track in the background.

Debut EP ‘Monster Party’ was released in december, and guess who’s responsible for that release? yup, On the Fruit Records, can’t tell you how much I love these guys releases. I have a new favourite label, fresh for 2009. I bought ‘Monster Party’ a few days ago, and Double Dragon takes a step forward becoming one of my personal favourites. Evolving a little bit, it still continues on the same soundtrack style but I find it more pounding, more driving, more proffesional with a delicate sound. ‘Elektronik body’ is a real banger with a real sweet melody that will get you dancing for sure. And when I listen to ‘Melodrame’, I picture a Donkey Kong Country Game Over screen. (I can’t tell you how much I love that game series, besides being the best 2D platformer it has the best game soundtrack ever.) ‘Melodrame’ will dig your heart leaving you with no choice, you just have to get that EP. Listen to it, and buy it right HERE!

once again a brilliant producer is discovered. Having being featured on Ohh Crapp! and valerie, this 18 year old kid from Columbus, Ohio now brings the heat to Dödselectro. Blacklight Flashlight gives us upbeat hyper tempo electronic tunes. Considering his young age, and the perfect build up these tracks have this guy really knows what he’s doing, and have all the time in the world to get even better! What a scary thought, how good will it sound then?! A Light Year In The Dark is my favourite track, I’ve listened to a lot of electronic music in my life, and this stuff really sounds fresh. Again the build up, just brilliant. I’m just loving these happy synth melodies accompanied by beats on steroids.
