  • First off, let’s take a moment to really look at that picture. I mean, how immensely cool isn’t that thing?! However Adeyhawke, from of Dublin, Ireland, is back with a new killer track. Shake Out Sugar feels like the perfect mashup of The Outrunners and idm, of course heavily influenced by the 80’s. Adeyhawke has appeared on a couple of blogs during last year, and was in the MOTU2 collection, so some of you probably heard one or two of his songs already. And now dont’ get me wrong, I love Adeyhawke, but when you compare his old tracks to this new Shake Out Sugar, it’s just not a fair any more. It’s romance, it’s retro, it’s ravishing. Have a listen!

And here’s a bonus for you! Last year’s upbeat wonder with the most awesome side-chaining I’ve heard. This is the song that made me separate Adeyhawke from any other artist. If Shake Out Sugar doesn’t do the job for you, this one will for sure.

And if you have some love to spare, make sure to show Adeyhawke some at his MySpace. Shake it out!

  • I love the French electro scene and have always done that since I was a kid and first heard Daft Punk on the radio. And now thanks to Monstoer of Splash My Milk, I have been given a deeper insight too more wicked french producers that otherwise would slip through my fingers unnoticed. One of the tips I got was the trio Vektorkat, but first of; a big thank you Monstoer!

And now, how do I start to describe these guys? Well, got a really good one; Most of you readers know of Fake Blood right? Well, the track End Run that I’m presenting here was included in his Essential Mix and that mix is by listeners considered  as this years best mix!
Well, take a listen and you will get the picture why it was included there:

    LOVE!

  • I always tend to feel a little gloomy at the beginning of each week, tired of the same old day-to-day routines. And nothing cheers me up as a tight, really danceable, remix like the one VIKING recently released. A really fresh bass line and Akons distinctive voice, obviously a winning concept as the remix already reached second on Hypemachine. I don’t know why, but somehow Akon always sounds a lot better remixed, and this is no exception. And when VIKING puts his personal touch on the song it triggers something inside me. An urge to dance away on crowded floors as the DJ spins this tune. But I’ll probably end up playing this song on repeat all night. Every single beat, every word, it all fells so damn… right.

And as if this wasn’t enough, there’s another really sweet remix of Kid Cudi’s Dat New New. A somewhat rougher approach with distorted bass and a neat synth sneaking up as the bass drops. Hope you enjoy this, I know I do!

Oh, and make sure to check out his MySpace with a couple of his own tracks!

  • once again. Sweden. and once again, kick ass. Nilof from Stockholm is one of my latest discoveries that represents the new swedish electro scene. These young men are Swedens answer to The Bloody Beetroots, Redial and featured Danger combined. Bringin’ the sawing bass lines, the piano builds, and the wobbly synths, creating heavy dance tracks that wont slip any dj’s by unnoticed. These guys made it to my watchlist for 2009 indeed.

Nilof really shows their producing skills with the smashin’ ‘Une Heure’, and the tearing banger of a track called ‘Lé Cremé’ that just keeps on pounding and slowly becoming that killer dance track that every floor needs. No shit, these tracks are insane. I’m surprised these guys didn’t get snatched by the claws of a label yet. Guess it’s all about promotion, and I really hope this post will help them a long the way. You hear me? all you label people reading! Nilof it’s where it’s at. Visit their myspace to give em all the love and support they deserve, while you feast on these.

  • It surprises me, how I discover more and more Swedish acts on the electro scene that just rocks my socks off. Have to thank myspace for that. You could sit all night browsing the ones with cool names and pictures that makes your brain tell you - Hey, this one has a cool picture, means it must be good. In many of these cases it comes down to being not so good, or medioker with potential of getting good. However, two nights ago i stumbled upon these guys out there, and this is just a class act. The brothers Simon and David Eriksson from Stockholm formed TRASIG in november 08, and I quote, since I couldn’t have said it better myself :

    - TRASIG is the missing link between the dancefloor and the punkshow, the club night, your broken cassette player and the street riot. We are very proud of the new songs and hope you’ll enjoy “Tysta Leken” and the colossal “Döden Dö” as much as we do.
Don’t be afraid of the Swedish, it’s a sharp, hard ass language, so embrace it.

    mp3 TRASIG - Döden Dö

With a little more promotion and maybe some instrumental bangers these guys will surely reach out to the rest of the world. Their productions are tight ass stuff, up in the same league with your favourite bangers and I’m fucking proud they are Swedish. Let’s start the hype, right here.

Drop by their myspace and tell TRASIG how good they are. If you’re swedish and want to party hard live with these guys, catch them at Disco Roar! 27/3 in Eskilstuna.

    Döden dö för fan.

  • Japan based p e a c e FIRE is finally making an appearance here on Dödselectro. I’ve been hooked on his tracks ‘Baghdad Rainbow’ and ‘Into The Freedom’ for some time now. There hasn’t been a reason for me to post about him since those tracks are not so fresh , they are not _that_ old but I started this blog kinda recently so that’s why.

Today Stefan (the dude who does the promo) sent me an email containing p e a c e FIRE’s first official remix saying this kind of music would fit perfectly on the blog. Indeed it does Stefan, thanks for giving me a reason to write about him! Now what is there to say? p e a c e FIRE’s productions are perfect, by far some of the sweetest 80’s synth melodies created. With the minimal beats and the basslines that are one of a kind. Really, listen to ‘Baghdad Rainbow’ and you’ll now what I mean, compressed and distorted to perfection.

    mp3 p e a c e FIRE - Baghdad Rainbow

This new remix I’m presenting is a fine piece of work of the track ‘The Year Of Magical Thinking’ by Switzerland duo Division Kent. And what can I say? It sounds like it was made in the 80’s, made to be played in a smoky neon lit club in Bladerunner. Same goes for the rest of his tracks, all that I love are compressed into to these magical melodies. I’m eagerly waiting for more. Indeed Stefan, these sounds defines Dödselectro, you know what you’re talking about.
Visit p e a c e FIRE and Division Kent and show some love. Also, say hello to Stefan.
