sort of lacking inspiration to write lately. It’s fucking hot and I got other things to do. It may be a slow summer but hey, I bet you too have other stuff to do than sit by the screen 24:7. Dragging me out of my lazyness, forcing me to post is the dance hit of the summer. I’m talking dreamy eurodisco house, full of emotions with a retro feel that just blends beautifully. If this don’t get you going I don’t know what does. This is the tension between two individuals on the dance floor, in the heat of the summer night with lights passing by. The french guys in Phoenix are getting lots of love right now across the world. Their Latest single Lisztomania quickly became remixomania. Seems like every single producer want’s to dig their hands in this one, it has resulted in a lot of good ones, and a lot of ugly remixes. What I’ve got for you are the ones that stick out from the masses, the ones that brings a whole new soul to this song. Canadian The Girls Can Hear Us wrote new lyrics and made a whole different story about this list. This is how I, personally think a remix should sound like. Yeah!

Next up, Holy Ghost! New Yorkers Nick and Alex Loves Paris, and their love resulted in a remix that is brilliant from beginning to end. Quite minimal but oh so beautiful. It will be featured on the Lisztomania remix EP along with two other ones. Grab it when it comes out.

These are my favourite Lisztomania remixes and the only lisztomania post you’ll see on Dödselectro, should something completely unexpected happen I maybe will have to take that back though.
Hope you dig ém and if you do visit all the involved on myspace and spread some love.Posted by Tobias on May.29, 2009 2 CommentsLast year when I discoverd Overthrills NLLR Exclusive Mixtape, I thought to myself “This is it, this must be the best mixtape of all times” since it had so many tracks and a lot of them mashed-up and getting those to new dimensions. Since then, I have listened to many mixtapes by many producers and dj’s but no one nearly as good as that one. But now I can honestly say it’s been beat way hard by Loo & Placido!
This masked duo hails from Paris, France (Why am I not suprised?) and has been dj’ing and mashing up tracks since 1999. They have just released their latest mixtape called Electronic Popstar Killers, and I got one thing to say to you all: It will blow your mind!
The mix contains 42 mashups that they have done themselves and it’s… Two hours long! Yeah, I know it seems to be at bit long. But when I listened to it, that time kinda went by fast and had me raising the volume bit by bit all the time since it’s f**king good. And what really makes me glad with this mix is that it contains so friggin many unexpected tracks that I wouldn’t dream of hearing in any kind of similar mixtapes.
Be blown away, and enjoy!Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

We Plants Are Happy Plants. A newly discovered gem of mine. Peter Bergmann awoke and evolved the genre that got me into electronic music. Acts like The Knife, Pluxus, Skanfrom, Múm and a bunch of european bands you probably never heard of. ‘Rise And Fall’ is a brand new track, and I can’t help to relate to my love for these melodic electronica sounds that started it all. These beautiful nu-raveish soundscapes built around the most original melodies I’ve heard in a while brings back the memories of the past, still, it sounds so 2009. I’m talking about the end of the world, a fierce space flight and love at first sight. With a new dance feel We Plants Are Happy Plants is more and more becoming a favourite of mine.

one of the most promising remixers the world has seen lately: Death To The Throne; is back with another remix that proves what he’s all about. Here we have a killer hard rock remix of LMFAO’s ‘la la la’ where he took out all the corny rapping and well, it’s Death To The Throne. It’s brilliant. We all know he’s produced only quality remixes so far, though I’m eagerly awaiting some mind blowing original stuff from James Martin Nelson. I guess it’s just a matter of time, and I will keep you updated.Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. Posted by Tobias on May.24, 2009 1 CommentFrom the kingdom were still Tea-time rules the nation, we have got a lot of producers that have delivered over and over again top-notch tunes. Just take for example Simian Mobile Disco, Russ Chimes and etc.! And in these past few days, my attention have been caught up by a duo who are totally new to me who also resides there (even though they originaly hail from Northern Ireland). And this duo is Audiofun!
The brains behind this project is Corry & Da Costa and was founded in the begining of this year (2009) after doing some Dj-sets together. As their myspace describes them, Da Costa is covering the lighter and more groovier side of their dj-sets, while Corry tends to take on the more dark and heavy parts. And when you listen to their tracks, you can hear that those influences have been baked in there in a balanced way (while some tracks are more heavy and some other are vice versa).
What we got for you readers from them are three original tracks; Dirty Gold, Numbers and Been Here Before. Dirty Gold do I like the most of these three, since it hits my softspot with groovines mixed with some classical disco-melodies. The other two tracks do I higly recommend as well, the bassline in Been Here Before is slick!

And yes, these tracks aren’t in full quality. But hey, if you like what you hear, then support them by buying the tracks when they are released. And according to Audiofun, that won’t take to long since they have upcoming releases on Southern Fried Records, BombSquad Records and On The Brink Records!
And oh right! Show them some myspace love!

Drlkt Freddie is a NYC based production team consisting of DJs Van Scott and Jad Cooper. Their upcoming single ‘Airtight’ is pure summer feelings and the reason people are comparing the duo to Daft Punk and Digitalism, and that’s not a bad comparison for a brand new act like this one. I’m not narrowing down like that because of one track though cause their other stuff is pretty hard style ghetto. ‘Airtight’ definitly puts these guys on my watch list though. Look for this track in the summer charts out there.Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. Airtight is out on DANR Music June 9, including remixes by Tronik Youth, Dept. and Sonic Truth.
Drlkt Freddie have yet another single coming out July 14 though, called ‘Blood’. And this Chewy Chocolate Cookies remix included on that one was featured in their minimix I posted here. Here’s the real deal, in 320 kbs, brilliant track.Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. Posted by Tobias on May.13, 2009 4 CommentsWhat is there to say about this man anyway? Think I’ve said it all already. Hence all the past posts. Whenever Mille is about to present something new it seems like everybody is holding their breath, waiting, for that new c64 electro smash! In my world at least.
He’s back with yet a track that proves what this man is capable of. ‘Ghost Dancer’ is a massive disco track, true to that retro sound and yet so refreshing. The solo and the second build just gives me goose bumps all over. Sexy arps, indian spirits and pure sidechaining commodore power. With every track he really shows the genius in his producing. I’m throwing ‘Crysteena’ in once again, in case you missed one of the most beautiful tracks ever made.
