Animal, one of those songs that just sticks to your brain and you find yourself huming mmmh-mmh-mmh-mh-mh mhimh-mh over and over. Swedish trio Miike Snow seems to be the next big thing in indie pop and they’re really making a good impression on me coming on strong with remixes from heavy producers. Punks Jump Up, Fake Blood and Treasure Fingers, all had their take on this one. Need I say more? Every single one of these are amazing. My favourite has to be the Punks Jump Up take though, bouncy, jumpy and just so right for the track.Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. The Treasure Fingers one is so good too, get hit by that wobbly bass. I take it back I can’t pick a favourite, I’ll leave it to you.

Viking and CJ Milli made this mash up tribute to Michael Jackson this morning. Bag Raiders ‘Shooting Stars’ up against the acapella from MJ’s ‘You Are Not Alone’. Epic combo. I wanna thank Rex The Dog once again for reminding me why he is one of the best and also one of my all time favourite musicians. He is alone in his league I tell you. This remix of Fever Rays ‘Triangle Walks’ is a fresh breeze on a hot summer day like this one that brings back memories of past summers with ‘Italian Blonde’ and ‘I Look In To Mid Air’, oh how I missed this sound. It isn’t the first time Rex remixes Karin Dreijer aka Fever Ray, If you’re with me you know that he remixed ‘Heartbeats’ by duo The Knife consisting of Karin and Olof Dreijer back in 2004. I can honestly say though, that this is by far the best remix coming out of this dog, and it’s definitly the best track of 2009 so far. Buy the Triangle Walks ep here and get more remixes. Buy Fever Ray debut album from record store of choice. Keep an eye out for more Rex in the future and catch him touring in europe right now. Visit Fever Ray on myspace and show karin some love.

Me and CRJ made a deal, we’re gonna hold a small remix contest over here at Dödselectro. Why you ask? Because the track ‘Loverider’ is epic and we think that it can make some sweet remixes falling in the hands of the right producers. We will pick three or five winners and put together a small digital remix ep, and spread the love. Deadline is July 10th. Listen to the track here.Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. mp3 CRJ (With Thomas Dorian) - Loverider
If you feel you’re up to the challenge then send me an email at: steaktonight@gmail.com or send one directly to CRJ and we will give you the parts for it to play around with.
CRJ became an insta favourite of mine when I heard ‘Loverider’, and he continues to amaze with his dreamy nu-raveish tech-electronica (think I nailed the genre there) I’m following every step this synthesizer magician takes. That’s why I have two brand new restored edits of ‘Geometry pt.1′ and ‘El3ph4nts pt.1′ to share with you all. Both beautiful. Hit CRJ up on mypace and show him some love.

UPDATE: The track Loverider will be the first official track between brand new project by CRJ and Thomas Dorian called Human Contact, along with the remixes that will color their myspace.

Let me start by saying that I was really sceptic towards Little Boots after ‘Stuck on Repeat’. Now I’m not saying that track is bad, it’s awesome, but after the release of that ep it was silent for a long time and blogs just kept spamming clips and demos around. Little Boots spent her time in magazines and media showing of clothes and poses. I guess I just got sick of it. When it wasn’t all about the music no more.I bought the debut album ‘Hands’ today and holy shit, this is spanking amazing. It contains nothing but epic melodies produced and mastered to perfection. Suddenly it’s clear to me that I shouldn’t have doubted after tracks like ‘Meddle’ and ‘Stuck on Repeat’. This is the only electronic pop album you need right now.
I’m taking my chances posting a track from it, in lowered quality, anything to get you interested and buy it. Along with a remix from favourites Designer Drugs I hope this post will have some effect on you. Buy the album here, show Little Boots some love here and say hello to Designer Drugs here.

I’ve been meaning to do this post for quite some time now, ever since I first stumbled upon Parallels on last.fm about two years ago. Ever since, I’ve been in love. And I’m not the only one, aleks over at discodust has been keeping us updated with news and fresh mp3s when nobody else has. However, today I got an email from Marigold, seems to be a sign to finally bring Parallels to Dödselectro.Canadian Cam Findlay started Parallels as a solo project, when not live drumming for Crystal Castles he was working on his own tracks. I’m glad he did cause the Parallels soundscapes are some of the most original I’ve heard, synths and melodies that weren’t crafted on this planet, driven by fierce arpeggios that sound like they were made in the astronauts seat at the moment of lift off.
Later on Cam got support from, I guess you could call it the missing link. Canadian female vocalist Holly Dodson. And with that, the Parallels we hear right here, today, was born. It was already good solo, but Holly made Parallels whole, with the addition of Joey Kehoe working the synthesizers.
Wired in parallel with another galaxy where an italo-space-disco journey awaits, the ride is electrically breathtaking.

Posted by Tobias on Jun.16, 2009 3 CommentsI just woke up from one of those nights being quite sick, having weird dreams and waking up every hour. After gathering enough power to crawl to the computer I pretty much begged for some sweet music in the mailbox to kickstart me. That’s where Terror Dactel comes in. Just watching the coverart assured me that I would be alert and going in just minutes. In the mail I found two songs, one remix of LMFAO’s La La La and one of his own songs. A quick listen and poff, the sickness is gone.
The remix actually just had it’s world-premier on a live set with VIKING and Chromeo just last weekend at New York’s Webster Hall. According to the soul behind Terror Dactel the song got a great respons from the crowd and I don’t doubt that. The song is pretty damn great! The smooth hiphop-like beats followed by the rough bassline and with the sweet original sounds of LMFAO ought to be a crowd pleaser.

He also sent me one of his own tracks with the following message:
“And if you missed it, you can pick up my debut-single “DTF” exclusively on JUNO with Premium Stems! People can remix the tune and submit it until June 20th, so let the folks know to send their remixes in at www.subdrive.net! If the label digs their remix, they’ll release it and give them a cut from the sales.”
Quite nice ehy? And as always, check out his MySpace and give him some love. Anyhow, here’s the track:

Zurich based pop sensation Division Kent that is Andrea B. & Sky Antinori are re-releasing their 2007 debut album Gravity worldwide. It comes packed with an oh so well sorted remix cd of it with killers among the fresh up and rising acts like; Joe And Will Ask?, Justin Faust, The Phantom’s Revenge, Keenhouse, Love Motel, After Midnight, p e a c e FIRE. Believe me it’s nothing but awesome. Take the keenhouse remix of ‘L’Heure Bleue’ for example, it’s just so powerful, here I’ll let you listen and if you doze of and it feels like you’re floating into some void in space, don’t panic, it has that effect on people.Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. mp3 Division Kent - Salty (Justin Faust Remix)
The Love Motel remix of ‘Rooftop Rallye’ turns it up a notch with neon bleeding electric guitar synths and Justin Faust is back and his power synths can’t be mistaken in his remix of ‘Salty’. Three deliciously selected 320 kbs remixes (that was the limit) though I could have posted them all, it is that good.
Did I mention you need this album? find it in well sorted record stores. Visit Division Kent on myspace and dig the original tracks and show some love to Keenhouse, Love Motel and Justin Faust.
