I felt incredibly lucky yesterday when I checked The Phantoms Revenge fanpage on facebook (in hope to find some live pictures to see who is the face behind the Phantom) and instead found myself in love with Mr. Moustache and his track Bosses Puzzle. Behind this pseudo is 20-year old Dominik from Czech Republic who has been in the loop for more than two years. As you will hear, he draws a lot of influence from the Phantom by mixing French House with a lot of glitch. And as I am weak for glitch-disco, I cannot let you guys miss this out.

You seriously cannot complain about summertime’s! Besides being blessed mostly with perfect weather, it’s also the time of the year we are getting to see many great releases. And my fabulous heroes Dolby Anol are not only ready to release one EP during these times, but namely three EP’s! First to be out of these three is Visa Mastercard EP and will soon be available to buy on Beatport, Junodownload and other well sorted stores. But now you can already get a taste of how that EP will dominate the dance floors for a long long time. After a lot of “pleases” and doing things I rather won’t speak to the public about, I finally got permission to share the lead-track Visa Mastercard in low quality.

One of my favourites Public just dropped this on my mail, a remix he made of the track Vaporous by canadian duo Elsiane. Now, Public hardly needs an introduction here anymore, if you’re a frequent reader you know he delivers excelent disco tracks but this is something different damn it! I am blown away by the beauty of it, what a wonderful feel. It’s a mish mash of a lot of good things, New Order, Karin Dreijer like vocals, valerie, the cure? I don’t know, those are my imressions. Last year when I discoverd Overthrills NLLR Exclusive Mixtape, I thought to myself “This is it, this must be the best mixtape of all times” since it had so many tracks and a lot of them mashed-up and getting those to new dimensions. Since then, I have listened to many mixtapes by many producers and dj’s but no one nearly as good as that one. But now I can honestly say it’s been beat way hard by Loo & Placido!
This masked duo hails from Paris, France (Why am I not suprised?) and has been dj’ing and mashing up tracks since 1999. They have just released their latest mixtape called Electronic Popstar Killers, and I got one thing to say to you all: It will blow your mind!
The mix contains 42 mashups that they have done themselves and it’s… Two hours long! Yeah, I know it seems to be at bit long. But when I listened to it, that time kinda went by fast and had me raising the volume bit by bit all the time since it’s f**king good. And what really makes me glad with this mix is that it contains so friggin many unexpected tracks that I wouldn’t dream of hearing in any kind of similar mixtapes.

Yo, new from Public! Nick Marsh is his real name, and he was featured here on Dödselectro in february. Nick keeps on producing great dance tracks for that sweaty night out. Melodic pumping electro house that just makes the floor suck you in. To back this up I give you the track ‘Got Me Baby’ that express all that I love with Public. Nick himself told me that it’s in a demo state still. Don’t know about that man, I think it’s a killer floor filler. Except for the ending maybe. I also give you ‘Junkfud’, a piece with a more rougher approach, a heavier, darker atmosphere. maybe you noticed I posted two Public remixes the other day. Here’s the thing, Nick sent me an email last week saying he liked my blog and sent me some tracks. I wanna thank him for doing that, cause now I have another favourite producer in the disco/electro house category. Can’t believe how he somehow slipped by me. Nevermind. I’ve been planning a post about him for a week now. Yesterday he sent me the brand new track ‘Bodymotion’ and that was it, had to get out of my lazyness and throw it up. I wish ‘Bodymotion’ would have come with one of those bodyworkout instruction videos, cause the track makes you wanna work up a sweat. It is simplicity itself, but it has that melody that will stick to your head. The wonderful piano and the beat that says, get up, get up, dance! Gooood! So let me tell you a little about this guy, he’s from California and was born with a disco ball for a face, well, Public was anyway. Nick likes retro, electro, ghetto house and techno. You can tell, cause he fits all these categories in his tracks. While ‘Bodymotion’ is kinda funky, these next tracks are more electro, more ghetto. ‘Medicine Teeth’ is chopped up samplings and driving electro, it’s one of those tracks I would like to hear live.

Were back to the funky theme with ‘Fit Girls’ , just brilliant, I love these synths. The track makes a turn in the middle though, and ends in heavy electro with some techno influences. Like I said, he really mixes it up, that’s why I like this guy. Public is not the average producer out there, he’s something more, something to really look out for. Make sure you listen to his remixes I posted in ‘Mixin’ it’, and visit his myspace and show him some love.
