So last week we featured Dirty Fresh (here), the breakout electro duo from Massachusetts. I asked them to do an exclusive Q&A and mix for DE, and I’m happy that they were happy to. Play the mix and get familiar with our new friends.

DE (HOUDINI): All right so our readers know a little bit about Dirty Fresh now… You mentioned to me last week that you had an EP in the works. Tell us a little about that. Will we be seeing a music video?
Dirty Fresh (Dan): It is going to be a four track EP, with two extra remixes available free for download. Two of the songs on the EP will be Easter Island and Dancing Plague of 1518, with the addition of two other originals. We plan on going back and touching up Dancing Plague of 1518. We feel that we have grown as producers significantly since the release of that song, and that we want all of the tracks to sound up to the professional caliber that Easter Island exhibits. As far as the other two originals on the EP, one will be a moombahcore track and the other will be another electro house track. We will be releasing it before the summer ends. As for a music video, we would love to do one as soon as we have the financial means to do so.
DE: Right on… What’s the next step for you guys? Where do you see yourselves in a couple years? Touring? Sittin’ back, countin’ racks?
Dirty Fresh: First and foremost we are using all of our time on the EP in between local shows. We have been playing around the underground rave circuit and it has been fun, but we plan on expanding and taking on bigger events. After the release of our EP we hope to get ourselves on tour (at least down the East Coast) and signed to a label. Eventually we want to be playing shows with some of our idols like Mord Fustang and Wolfgang Gartner. All cliches aside, the sky is the limit. Because the upcoming EP is only 4 songs we have already started to plan a subsequent album that we have high aspirations for.
DE: A Dirty Fresh album?! I can’t wait for that! All right… Last one. What’s the craziest party/event you’ve played? The weirdest, coolest things you’ve seen?
Dirty Fresh: We’ve seen a lot of things at the events we’ve gone to, but one story in particular comes to mind. At one event there was a very enthusiastic, and also very drunk go-go dancer on stage. It was amusing enough watching her attempt to dance but it got even sloppier when she stepped off the stage. She had realized that she was becoming too hammered to handle herself so she went to lie down on a nearby couch while her friends came over to help. She was laying face up, and suddenly she became sick and puked up vertically into the air a good 2 feet, and then it all came back down into her face and she was covered in her own vomit… She was then escorted back to the artists van that she had come with, and proceeded to ruin everything in it with her vomiting.
DE: I’m weak!!! Poor girl… Well, thanks you guys. Hit me up anytime. Definitely looking forward to your future ventures.
