I’m giving you a nightcall to tell you how I feel. I want to drive you through the night down the hills. Just hearing these words companied by the wonderful haunting beats sooths my soul. It was worth it, the hype that’s been built up around this release was totally worth it. And I can just relax and enjoy what has to be the best track of the year so far. ‘Nightcall’ is produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk, mixed by SebastiAn and features beautiful vocals from CSS‘ Lovefoxxx. And believe me it is just as good as it sounds. Along with ‘Pacific Coast Highway’ these are the only tracks I need to stay convinced Kavinsky will always be awesome.

Not only does Phonat create magnificent synth layered electro grooves and not only did he release one of 2009s best albums, he’s also into drum and bass. He took on cool cat collective Young Punx latest edition ‘Ready For the Fight’ and having shown us that he’s multi influental and talented in his music before, listening to this I can only come to the conclusion that he truly is a musical genius. Really feeling this dirty guitar riffin’ tune with crazy organ solos that add that flavour extraordinaire. I’m usually not into dnb! And as much as the feature of the night is a Neon Gold favourite he’s a Dödselectro favourite, even more! London pride Fear of Tigers yet again gives us an unforgetful high energy synth driven disco track that will give that dance floor an epic romance teenage flick feel, setting hearts on fire. And yet again, sounds like these reminds me why I started this blog from the first place.

If I’d pick the number one summer tune of 2009 it have to be the Axwell remix of this track. With those true epic ibiza big room house vibes I just fell in love with it and listened to it countless of times. Well Imagine the surprise finding a A1 Bassline remix of it on the email some one year later! I’m really into the sounds this kid creates, and hearing this new direction of style with big euphoric techno leads and ridiculously breathtaking breakdowns and marching drums is just overwhelming. Whether he does it electro or techno doesn’t matter, A1 Bassline got mad skills.

This new track called Rock It which is taken from his latest release Sawsage EP, is just simply amazing! Once you hear it, you can fully understand the choice of artist name since his productions are full of saw lead layers that work so well together.
