The Starters Dj’s brings the flavor.
Chicago based Dj’s Young Live & DJ Mop Top have branched out to bring together a project including todays emerging artists from a range of genres. This is The Starters first original release and guess whos bringing it to you? We are. This official remix album contains takes on Lady Sovereign, Kid Sister, Hey Champ and Chester French amongst others. Inspired and driven by the mix of hip hop, dance and electronic club sounds that really colors The Starters remixes, this album really shows what they are all about.The mixture on ‘The Flavor’ is wide but The Starters manage to color every single one of these tracks with their quite unique sound, every track as good as the last one but with their own style.There is something for everybody packed up in this. Here’s three selected remixes, to get a picture of the real deal. Also a download link for the full album containing 10 (!) tracks.

They’ve already grown reputation as inventive multi-styled Dj’s out there and blogs around the internet has featured their remixes (including dödselectro) . This is their first original release which will be followed by their first EP including all original music later on. Alright, alright. In all fairness, ignoring everything else and going straight to the music, the productions are getting better and more original, less like mash-ups. Good mastering, too. I’d shy away from the “REEEEMIIIIX” drops, though. Reminds me of the way corny rappers have to remind us a million times in a remix that it is, in fact, the remix.
Was that more fair?
